Leber Electric was founded in Scranton. PA. in 1956 by
Frederic R. Leber. Originally the company was named Frederic R. Leber,
Electrical Contractor. In 1987 the
company incorporated and the name changed to Leber Electric, Inc., currently we
have offices in Scranton and Lake Winola, Pa. We offer a full range of
services, have competitive rates, provide you with quality service, excellent
customer care and these are just a few of our qualities that make us who we
are.
The founder, Frederic R. Leber was a member of Local Union #
81, IBEW, for over forty-three years.
He served as a trustee on the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee
(JATC) for thirty-five years; his primary concern was the education and
training of apprentices. Frederic R. Leber passed away in June, 2002 but he
will long be remembered for his contributions and devotion. His reputation for
dedication and commitment lives on within Leber Electric, Inc.
Frederic R. Leber, Jr. attended Penn State University,
Dunmore, PA and started with the company almost 30 years ago as a journeyman
Electrician. Over the years Fred
moved from Job Superintendent to Vice President-Secretary and currently serves
as President of the corporation. Like his father Fred knows that education and
training is one of the most irreplaceable assets to the members of Local #81
and to his own employees, therefore he also serves as a trustee on the Joint
Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC). Fred is a member of Local 81,
I.B.E.W., The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and
Northeastern Pennsylvania Contractors Association (NEPCA).
Reputations are developed over long periods of time,
reflecting how a company responds and performs and their ability to get the job
done right. For this reason, Leber Electric takes pride in its reputation. We
have never in the past fifty years been involved in any litigation or disputes
involving workmanship or business practices. Also, many of our present
customers are the same people or are within the same families that Frederic R.
Leber serviced since first going in business fifty-years ago.
We presently employ an average of ten electricians in
commercial, industrial and residential markets for electrical construction of
all types. Several of our employees have been with us for many years. The
combined electrical experience of our employees provides the necessary
background to get the job done right.
Leber Electric, Inc. occupies three buildings at 1017-19 and
1014-16 West Lackawanna Avenue, Scranton, Pa. for offices, warehouse, storage
and fabrication. We also maintain
offices and storage facilities at Lake Winola, PA
We have a complete line of tools and equipment for
electrical construction, including hydraulic benders, cable pullers, threading
machines, crimper heads, large coring drills and test equipment. A battery operated twenty-four foot
platform man lift and one forty-eight foot bucket truck allows easy access to
overhead installation. A
forty-eight inch diesel powered trencher and backhoe provides a fast economical
way to excavate for power or communication wiring. A fleet of nine fully
equipped service trucks provides our employees with material and tools for our
projects.
Our list of jobs completed represents a total and varied
field of job types and vast array of experience in all aspects of design,
fabrication and installation of electrical systems, equipment and devices.
